Several upscale private condominium developments dot the beach with only 2 public beach access areas being off the street of Olas Altas. This limited public access to Playa Olas Altas affords the owners of the condominiums more privacy along the beach areas.

Olas Altas is a short 25 minute drive from the small International Airport of Manzanillo and 15 minutes from the shipping, fishing and Cruise Ship harbour of downtown Manzanillo.

Take a one hour drive to La Manzanilla, a small fishing village north of Manzanillo or to the city of Colima, State Capital of the State of Colima to view one of the few active volcanoes in the world. A scenic 4 1/2 hour drive North up the coast to Puerto Vallarta makes a nice overnight diversion.
