Manzanillo is the largest seaport in Mexico with the Mexican Navy being stationed here in the harbour. Shipping and a new Cruise Ship Terminal currently under construction keeps Manzanillo business bustling. Unemployment is low and infrastructure is booming to accommodate this quickly growing area in the State of Colima.

Manzanillo is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in Mexico. It is located on the Pacific coast, 90 km (56 mi) North West of the capital of Colima, in the State of Colima. (that is not a typo error - the Capital has the same name as the State) Manzanillo has an average year round temperature of 81°F (27° C) with a fair climate and the beaches and bays of Manzanillo offer spectacular views with a variety of water sports. Swimming, surfing, collecting sea shells and walking the multi miles of long beaches fill your days with constant entertainment. Join a local diving group for some of the best scuba diving in Mexico.

Fishing

Since 1957 Manzanillo has been known as the Sailfish Capital of the World. Every year Manzanillo is host to many International and National fishing competitions. Easy airline flights from the US and Canada make this a very attractive fishing destination with several local fishing charter companies ready to make your day on the water memorable. Hire a yacht for the day to tour the many bays and regions of Manzanillo with incredible scenery along the way. Markets and Sightseeing

The outdoor markets of Manzanillo offer Mexican made products and crafts and provide an enjoyable afternoon of diversion from the surf and sand. Visit the Boardwalk and the Obregon Garden as well as the Monumento al Pez Vela (Sailfish Monument) in the downtown harbour. The Monumento al Pez Vela is a spectacular work of art created by the world famous Mexican sculptor Sebastian.

Visit the nearby towns of Melaque, La Manzanillo, Barra de Navidad and Cuyutlan for a days outing with one of the local Professional Tour Guides or join the locals to watch a Bullfight or Soccer Game on a Sunday afternoon.
